Kathrine Jack

Kathrine D. “Kate” Jack graduated from Greenfield-Central High School. Ms. Jack then earned her bachelor of arts degree from Indiana University Bloomington majoring in Political Science and Economics. She was awarded the James Moffat Book Award for outstanding economics students. Upon graduation, Ms. Jack worked as a statistical research analyst for the department of health care economics at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.

Ms. Jack graduated cum laude from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law. She served as president of the school’s chapter of the American Constitution Society and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, Adams Chapter. Ms. Jack was a staff member of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies while in law school.

Ms. Jack began her legal career as a staff attorney at National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW) where she focused on the defense of people who faced punitive state interventions because of pregnancy -- often because they are unable to overcome a drug problem in the short term of pregnancy -- and assisted in NAPW’s efforts to secure the rights of pregnant and parenting people. Ms. Jack was involved in state and federal cases in trial and appellate courts around the country in her time at NAPW.

During her time at NAPW, Ms. Jack is grateful that she had the opportunity to work with and learn from leading people and organizations in the women’s rights, reproductive justice, public health, criminal justice reform, harm reduction, and social justice.

In 2011, Ms. Jack opened her own law office in her hometown of Greenfield, Indiana. Jack Law Office is a general practice law firm focusing on civil litigation.

Kathrine D. Jack lives in Greenfield with her husband, two children and two dogs.
